Dave Rocked at Crossing Another Bucket List Item

Yesterday was a dream.   When Dave first mentioned he was going to Tokyo for work I was excited for him.  When he asked if I wanted to go I was completely against it. Scared.  But it kept showing up in my brain.  Should fear keep me from going?  Then one day I saw something about Mount Fuji.  I realized it was in Japan....and not far from Tokyo.   It was the turning point of my decision to go. That and Ryanne telling me I should go.  What a gal!   So the fact that Dave, researched and found the most awesome experience to see Mount Fuji is the best gift ever.

Here we are early in the morning on the subway.  Heading to the train to whisk us away!

Have I mentioned how serious they are about standing on the left on the escalator?  Walking and driving is on the left here, which I keep having to remember.  But staying to the left on the escalator... I'm pretty sure could get me thrown in jail if I'm not careful!  Ok, I exaggerate slightly, but this sign...I don't get it....   Soldiers coming?  I'll have to look at it closer later.

Back to our trip.  So this is the express train.  It's called a Romance Car. We were never sure why.  We didn't feel 'wined and dined' or anything.

Here is the pamphlet that lead us around all day.  Hakone is where we were headed to start our tour.

I take it back.  I was 'wined and dined' on the Romance car. I paid 350 yen for a baby sized coffee!!

I was like a dog in a car. I couldn't sit still.  I was back and forth between windows taking a million pictures.  I finally figured out how patient Dave is with me sometimes.

Made it to Hakone!  And got drinks for the bus ride up the mountain.  It has extendable straws!!

Up and Up and Up we go!!

We arrive at the lake on the mountain.

I love panaramic on my phone!!

We walked a Cedar tree trail with cedars planted 400 years ago.

Then up a hill to a scenic garden.

And a great spot to see......MOUNT FUJI!!!

We saw some baby bamboo trees all along the trails.

What's this?  MOUNT FUJI!!!

Dave gets thirsty.  Vending machines are everywhere.  Like...EVERYWHERE!  Dark alley?  Vending machine!  Top of Tokyo Tower? Vending machine!  Was pretty good the Lemon Squash....?

All the vehicles are so small and boxy!!  Even trucks

So you will want to keep track of all the forms of transportation we take during this adventure.  So far, subway to train to bus....now onto a huge pirate ship!!!  It's probably not a pirate ship, but any boat that looks like this equals pirates to me!!

Have seen only one other Japanese flag, but it wasn't blowing in the wind.  Glad I saw this one.

We take the boat across the lake.  And stop for lunch.   Some Curry and rice with some deep fried pork.  It was yummy!!

That squash pop was good, but this cold beer really hit the spot!!!

Next mode of transportation is the Ropeway.  This was at the bottom, so of course I had to make you 'believe' I was really in one. Aren't I believable?

This is me seeing something really awesome out the 'window'.  ACTING!!

So we finally remembered...I mean, found a place for the 'kids' to get a picture.

So.  Ready to head up the Ropeway....  Wait..  what's that sign say?  What now!!?!?!

To Be Continued....
